Topshop & Dorothy Perkins

Just a quick post today (I'm sure I think this a lot then end up writing a whole page haha)

I went 'shopping' with my mum today because I wanted to try on some dresses I'd seen in Topshop and one was a possible wedding outfit for when she gets married.

I looked around the store and couldn't find the dress I wanted to try (below)

Picture from Topshop - It may be quite hard to see as it's white on a white background

but they did have this one (below)

Picture from Topshop - It may be quite hard to see as it's white on a white background
which was actually really nice and my mum said she liked this one! So, if I can't find the other one or don't like it I may just have to get the one with the 'bit' around the waist as it looked quite elegant. I love Topshop dresses as I find they're a really good quality and a really nice fit.

Also, I wanted to try on a leopard print skater dress I'd seen online and in another store. I really like their skater dresses because they're great if you want to hide a bit of belly, because I don't have the flattest tum in the world and I just like the way they 'flow' although I don't like them too long, I'm only 5'2" so I feel like long dresses can make me look even smaller.

I tried the Leopard print one and... I must shamefully say yes, I did buy it *naughty me* I've been trying so hard to resist spending any money but you can never have enough clothes and it was a treat to myself for being so good for not spending money on things I didn't need up until that point :)

You can buy this dress here. I paid £36 for it which for a Topshop dress I was happy to pay as normally they're over £40 like the two above they're around £48 I believe and I've paid £46 for a plain black skater dress from Topshop before - crazy I know.

I got a size 10 because as I said my belly isn't the flattest and I believe that Topshop dresses do come up a bit bigger on me anyway. Also, I have biggish boobies ;) (not bragging lolz) and I like to make sure they can fit into the dress without it stretching and I find that a size 10 fits me perfectly.

So, yeah that was my Topshop purchase & as you can see by the post title you may have guessed I bought something from Dorothy Perkins, so I'll now show you that.

On Thursday me, my mum and my boyfriends mum went 'shopping' to look at dresses for the wedding and I was in a BHS and they had a Dorothy Perkins section and this blouse caught my eye and I knew I had to have it but being the good girl that I am I didn't bring my card with me as I had no intention to spend any money.
However, when I got home I kept complaining to my mum how much I liked this blouse and she told me to buy it otherwise I'd regret it so... online I went and put the blouse in my basket, I also put another one in but in a different colour and then went to pay BUT I hate paying for shipping/postage and packaging and it was £4 so in total my basket had come to £58 and I was like NOOOOO! So I cancelled and didn't bother but then I was sulking haha so I made my mum do it for me so I couldn't look and be all like hmm arrgh!

Anyhow, the blouses arrived yesterday. Yay

You can find the blouses on the Dorothy Perkins website here & here. On the hangers in the shop they looked lovely but it was a different story when I tried them on. The Aqua one is fine, I don't mind it and I'll be keeping it but the Blush/Pinky Peach one just doesn't look right on me so i'll be sending it back because they cost £27 each and there's no point keeping it if I'm not going to wear it.

I got size 12s in these as I find with button up blouses/shirts the gaps between the buttons where my boobs are always come apart and you can see between so yeah, not cool, I don't want them on show! haha

I know I said this would be a quick one but... I guess it wasn't really that quick was it? oops
I hope you enjoyed reading & Thank you if you did

Fake Tan: Lauren's Way

Hiya :)

As I've mentioned before I am quite pale so I thought I'd write up a post about Fake Tan! some people love it, others hate it but I'm in the middle. I've tried different tans before as it's nearly impossible for me to get a proper sun tan these days!

The Sun hates me...

I've had a few failures before, like the Johnsons gradual tan... that made me orange and at the time I was a bit younger and thought it looked fantastic! but, I was totally wrong.

Also, alot of people rave about St Moriz and it was ok for me but not amazing! I've tried it a few times but I just think my skin hates it for some reason.

I've also tried more expensive brands like 'Make Believe' which you can get from Boots at the time I bought it, a few years back, it was more around the £30 mark which was expensive for me as I was still in school, I also bought the srub that goes with it and I probably still have it lurking around somewhere! haha This tan was alright, It was probably the nicest tan I've ever smelt, It was sort of like bananna's and other fruity smells but it wasn't the most natural colour and it was clear when applying so you could easily miss parts of your body as there was no guide colour.

I've tried the Xen Tan samples from the Feel Unique boxes but I didn't really try them properly, with such a small sample I'm scared that I'll use most of it on one part of my body then not have enough for the rest haha. I do want to try the Xen Tan Dark Lotion though as I've heard many good things about it.

I've never tried St Tropez but I've heard it's quite good and that St Moriz is basically the cheaper version so I have no desire to try St Tropez really.

Currently I am using a Tan made by 'Lauren's Way'. This brand comes from Lauren Goodger of The Only Way is Essex fame. Firstly, I had heard so many good things about this tan from reading blogs and watching youtube videos (I normally look around before actually parting with my money) I decided to go for the Lotion as the mousse was more expensive at the time and I had St Moriz in mousse form so wanted to try something different. You can buy the Lotion here for £15.95 or the mousse here for £17.95.

Image from Google

So, I waited for it to be delivered and as soon as I got it I think I literally tried it. So, I did all the things I needed to like Exfoliate, Moisturise etc etc. I applied the tan with a mitt and it smelt quite nice and went on with a guide colour, it dried quickly and I put some loose clothing on and went to bed.

Lauren's Way Tanning Lotion - Image from Google
I woke up in the morning and it was a nice natural golden brown colour but it had gone all weird and patchy (Not the Tan's fault) in some places and this dissapointed me a bit, I seem to get this problem alot, I don't know if it's my skin being a pain or if it's the moisturiser I use but anyway, It wasn't that noticable so I carried on using that for a while until 'Glam Tan' arrived, you can buy this here for £18.95

Now, Glam Tan is a spray sort of tan, you spray it onto the mitt and then just apply it like you would a normal tan. It isn't a 'Spray Tan' that you can just spray on to your body in a mist. At the time I purchased the Glam Tan it came with a Mitt but I checked the website yesterday and now you have to buy the Mitts separatley but they only cost £3.99, which is probably about average for a Tanning Mitt and they're actually really good.

Lauren's Way Glam Tan - Image from Google

When I first tried this I was instantly surprised and this became my favourite tan within minutes. Normally, my legs don't tan too well or my belly but with this tan I was amazed at the results. As normal, you let your tan develop over night then wash off in the morning. So, I did this and the tan faded to a more natural colour and honestly it still looked great.

I still use this tan and I find if I apply it one night, wash it off the next morning then reapply some more that night then wash off the next morning it gives you such a nice golden colour and I love it!!!

I would recommend this to everyone! it's easy to use and it gives such a nice colour. It lasts for ages as well but the only problem with that is it starts to go patchy and no matter how much you scrub/exfoliate it is really tough to get off! BUT I don't mind that because It's just such a great tan and I can put up with it haha.

Thank you for reading, Vicky x

P.S. Does anyone know how to set up the reply to comments bit? I can't properly reply to any comments I get, I can only post a comment like anyone else.

Katy Perry Eyelashes

Hi everyone :)

As I've mentioned previously in my first post, I do love Katy Perry! I've seen her live 3 times and she is just amazing. She's funny and really knows how to put on a good show and I know some people say she can't sing but I think she can and at least when she does shows she sings live, unlike some popstars. For instance, on Saturday night she was on Lets Dance for Sports Relief and she did a live performance, not sure about her blue hair though, I wish she'd dye it black again! haha

My Lashes! :)

But anyway, today's post is about her range of eyelashes with Eylure. When I heard she was going to be joining Eylure to make her own eyelashes I said to myself I HAVE TO HAVE THEM! even though I rarley wear falsies I just wanted them because I love Katy Perry and her eyelashes always look great. There's 4 sets that came out at the beginning of February I believe and as soon as I could, I bought them online from Boots. I do normally love Boots and I use them over Superdrug nowadays but it took about 2 weeks for them to deliver the eyelashes to me and then when I did get them I only received 3 of the 4 pairs! So, the next time when I actually went to Boots I picked up the last pair I needed for my 'collection'.

Below you'll see the pictures of the 4 sets of Lashes and the description about them and what I think:

Cool Kitty Lashes - Image from Google

'Eylure Katy Perry Eyelashes Cool Kitty will make your eyes look AMAZING!! They are 100% natural and reusable.'

These lashes are the ones I wear the most, they're not too in your face even though they don't look the most natural but I like the way they look on my eyes. I would insert a picture but I only took a picture from my Blackberry and it's not amazing quality.

RRP £5.95
Sweetie Pie Lashes - Image from Google

'Eylure Katy Perry Eyelashes Sweetie Pie will discreetly add length and volume to your own lashes. They are 100% natural and reusable.'

So these are the ones Boots never actually sent me even though I did order them. I haven't tried these ones yet as I don't often wear false eyelashes but I would say these ones look natural and I would probably wear these when I didn't want to wear too much mascara.

RRP £5.95
Oh Honey Lashes - Image from Google

'Eylure Katy Perry Eyelashes Oh Honey will add volume with a natural finish. They are 100% natural and reusable.'

I've had similar eyelashes to this before and they make your eyelashes look really long. I have quite long eyelashes anyway, everyone always asks if my eyelashes are real! But if you don't have long lashes then I reckon these ones would be good to add length and still look quite natural.

RRP £5.95
Oh My Lashes - Image from Google

'Eylure Katy Perry Lashes Oh My are big and beautiful with a layered effect. They are 100% natural and reusable.'

I love these lashes and they are the Katy Perry lashes I see when she's on stage. She always has big lashes and I've always looked for ones like this! I haven't worn these yet as I haven't been anywhere where these type of lashes would look acceptable haha. I think these are party/clubbing lashes more than anything! I doubt I'd wear them just to go down the shops. These lashes cost a whole £1 more than the rest and I can only assume it's because they're 'double layered' so you really get two lashes per eye.

RRP £6.95

The packaging of the lashes is also quite cute, each pack has a different design and they all come with their own adhesive glue inside and a sticker that says 'Cool Kitty', 'Sweetie Pie', 'Oh My' and 'Oh Honey' depending on which box you get obviously.

I find these are actually some of the easiest lashes I've ever tried and they work well for me so I think I shall be sticking to these ones for now! :)

Anything with Katy Perry on... I will buy! I.e. I bought Teenage Dream by OPI and I might do a post on that soon because I love it! and I recently bought the new Sims game because it had Katy Perry on and because I secretly like The Sims ;)

I hope you've enjoyed reading and let me know if you've tried any of the Katy Perry Lashes and what you think of them.

March Glossybox: The Harrods Edition

Hello :)

Yes, I'm jumping on the bandwagon and posting about this months Harrods Glossybox! Sadly, this Glossybox is going to be my last one as I've had to unsubscribe for now due to not wanting to waste money seeing as I'm out of work at the moment. Anyway, here's my thoughts on this months box.

So this months box was a limited edition box as it contained samples from the Harrods beauty hall. The box itself is white and has Harrods written on it, it looks quite smart actually although my favourite box colour was the Valentines one!

When the box is opened, the normal black tissue paper and black 'shreddings' remain but instead of a Glossybox sticker and ribbon there's Harrods ones instead which are a nice little touch.

The contents in the boxes do vary slightly and this is what I got in my box, I haven't really looked at any other posts to see what other people got yet but I'm quite happy with what I got.

Lancome Juicy Tube in Toffee R 'N' B 93 - an ultra shiny hydrating lipgloss.
All I can say about this is that I L.O.V.E this! I don't normally wear lipgloss as I'm more of a lipstick girl but I gave this a go and I fell in love! It smells and tastes like Toffee and it makes me want to eat it haha. It doesn't really give me a colour on my lips but it makes them look a tiny bit glittery. All I keep doing is opening it and sniffing it and applying it to my lips. On the Harrods website this retails for £15.50 so I think I'll have to use this sparingly, it should last me a while though if I don't keep applying it just for the smell haha.

Versace - Vanitas Versace Eau De Parfum - a luxurious scent from the House of Versace. Vanitas is a rich and voluptuous fragrance with notes of tiare flower, lime and freesia.
First of all, the bottle the sample is in is the nicest sample bottle I've ever seen, normally they're small glass bottles but this one just looks like a miniture of the full size (see below) It's quite cute! I put a bit of this on my wrist and rubbed my other wrist over it and a few minutes later i started to get a slightly stinging where I'd put the perfume and my skin went a little bit red, I did try and take a picture but it wouldn't show up that well. After a minute or two it had gone though and the smell was really nice and it lasted for ages, I could smell it everytime I moved my hand near my face. I'm not good at describing scents so I won't even try but above in the bold writing is what was written in the card in the box. This perfume retails for £45.00 for 30ml which is reasonable I guess as most perfumes are around this sort of price. I'm not sure if I'd repurchase this, although it's nice I'm not sure if it's what I would pick personally.

Bliss - Blood Orange and White Pepper Body Butter - Deeply moisturising, skin softening, naturally rejuvenating body butter in mouth watering blood orange and white pepper.
I used this body butter this morning after my shower, the smell is quite unusual but not horrible. It reminds me of something I've smelt before but I just can't think what, for some reason I'm thinking a Calypso Ice Lolly haha. It retails for £20.50, I can't say if it's made my skin any smoother or softer as I've only used it once but I will carry on using it as I do quite like the unusual smell.

Révive - Intensité Créme Lustre SPF30 - An intense, firming moisuriser that helps to reduce the appearance of sagging skin (tip: Apply in the morning after cleanser, toner and serum)
So, I didn't mean to ignore the tip but instead of using this in the morning I thought I would use it last night. I don't know what this is meant to do really, it says it reduces sagging skin but, as I'm only 19 I can only hope that I don't have sagging skin already haha. I tweeted that I had sore eyes last night after using this because some how I managed to rub my eyes and get this product in them and... My eyes would not stop watering and I couldn't keep them open as it hurt so much! This retails for £235.00!!! so, even if I did love this I don't think I could justify spending that much money on a pot of Moisturiser, that's just crazy in my opinion!

Clarins - Extra Firming Body Cream - A formula rich in regenerating and firming plant extracts which restore the skins youthful destiny and elasticity.
I also used this after my shower today and there's not much I can say at the moment about it as it's not going to firm my skin with one use. To be honest though, once again I am 19 and I don't think I need to use this just yet (fingers crossed) I don't really need to 'restore my youthful skin' as, I think I'm still quite youthful lol. I read in an email that Glossybox sent that this isn't actually available in Harrods until 1st April so I don't actually know how much this retails for at the moment.

All in all, I am happy with some of the bits I got and I'm quite sad this has to be my last box for now. I hope that maybe in the future I can resubscribe to Glossybox, because I do like their service and I love the limted adition boxes they do to shake it up a bit.

Whilst looking at the prices on the Harrods website I saw some of the other products that people may have received and there's a few things I would have liked to get instead of others but that is the whole point in the beauty box concept - you get things you probably wouldn't normally think twice about, like I said, I am happy with my box anyway.

Thank you for reading, I'm going to go and sniff my lipgloss now ;)

TAAJ Make-up Remover

Aloha,

Today I'm going to do a post on the 'Taaj Purifying and Revitalizing Make-Up Remover' that I received in my February JolieBox.

Basically, It's a Make-up Remover that contains natural water from the Himalayas. I guess it's similar to the Bioderma Sensibo H2O that a lot of bloggers have mentioned before, I've never tried that so I can't really compare. The Taaj Make-Up Remover is clear just like water, it has no colour in it and on the label it says it contains no Parabens. Most of the label is in another language but there's a few bits on there in English.

Sorry about the picture quality. I took it quickly yesterday

As you may know from my previous post on the Clarisonic, I said I used my Clarisonic every morning and night without fail... But guess who's been lazy? Yeah, I decided on Friday morning I couldn't be bothered to go and use my Clarisonic for all of one minute, I decided to stay in bed instead. That's sort of where this came in, I hadn't tried it yet so I decided to give it a go, bearing in mind I had no makeup on in the morning, I just wanted to use it to 'freshen up' my face before putting makeup on.

For the last few days I've had really rubbish skin from the stress of losing my job and just being a bit miserable about it all. I had one of those spots that you can feel under your skin by my chin/jaw. I've also had a few other little spots and I thought that it was either stress/my emotions or the Clarisonic finally giving me that purging stage. So Friday afternoon, I decided to use Taaj and took all my make-up off as I just felt disgusting and to my surprise it literally took everything off, my face felt so clean and fresh!

I didn't bother using my Clarisonic Friday night, Saturday morning or night, Sunday morning or night but instead I used the Taaj remover to take my make-up off and then I used my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish just to make sure every last scrap of make-up was off of my face. Since I haven't used the Clarisonic but the Taaj remover instead I feel like my skin has cleared up quite quickly.

I read on the JolieBox facebook page that some people had been using the remover and it had left them with really dry skin but this hasn't happened to me and I've been using it for the last few days now and I can honestly say it's so much quicker and nicer than the Clarisonic. With the Clarisonic, I feel it may be a bit too rough for my skin everyday and I've probably overdone it, I am debating whether or not to use my Clarisonic tonight and then just use it every other night or something along those lines.

I believe the Taaj Make-Up Remover will be available to buy on the JolieBox website soon. However, I'm not 100% sure if you have to be a subscriber to buy from them or not as I've never actually repurchased anything I received in a Beauty Box.

All in all, I think I'll carry on using this and cutting down on my Clarisonic because I guess skin is fragile and It needs nice natural and gentle things not vibrating brushes and scrubs! haha

My Hair Story

Hello :)

Today I'm going to do a post on my hair. I'm going to show/tell you my 'hair story'.

I won't start from the very beginning, that would take too long and I had the same hair colour etc for most of my childhood anyway :)

I'm the one in the blue dress thing (what did my mum dress me in!?) As you can see my hair is a mousey brown and it's in a bob.

As I grew up I didn't have my hair cut and it got quite long, it stayed the same colour. It doesn't look as long because my hair is curled. I was a braidsmaid for my Dad's cousin here :)

I decided that I wanted to cut my hair short *worst idea ever* so, I got it cut to about shoulder length, again up until this point I hadn't dyed my hair. I got braids or whatever they're called as this was for another Wedding that we went to & around this time everyone had their hair braided like this! I remember when I got home and took all the little plaits out, my hair was so frizzy!

I don't have a picture of it but my mum was having blonde highlights put into her hair once by her friend and she asked if I wanted one in my fringe, so I said yes and that's the first time any sort of colour went into my hair. Since then I've had different things done to my hair.

On my old passport photo (I'll try and put it on here next time) My mum's friend did my hair as a treat, I had lots of blonde highlights on the top of my head and then had my hair dyed dark brown underneath & I really liked it like this. She cut it into a nice style with a proper fringe too and I think that was the first time I'd ever had my hair done really nicely.

After that faded/grew out I decided I wanted some Blonde and Red highlights, so the same lady that did my hair before did this for me. I went to school and everyone kept calling me ginger, even though I only had a few red streaks. Although there is nothing wrong with being ginger I just got annoyed with everyone saying it to me when my hair was clearly red so, I got a box dye and dyed the whole of my head a dark chocolate brown to get rid of all the highlights and that's the first time I'd ever used a box dye from home.

I kept the chocolate brown for most of my younger school years but occassionally had blonde highlights put in here and there. I then got bored of highlights and thought they were quite tacky looking on me so I didn't have highlights again.

By this point my hair was quite long again and I fancied a change, this is when Victoria Beckham had her 'POB' or Posh Bob, and I decided I liked it and wanted it for myself. I put my hair back and tried to make it look like I had a POB and it looked nice so I was like Yep, I'm doing it! so I got someone to come round to my house and cut my hair (I don't really like going to the hairdressers)...

This is the only picture I could find of my 'POB' and this was when I first had it done. It looked ok at first, but then I began to hate it. I couldn't do anything with my hair, it was just difficult to manage and it was the shortest I'd ever had my hair since I was a little girl.

I hated it so much I just wore my hair up everyday and hoped it would grow! I never used to wear my hair up in a ponytail ever! Everyone at school was like :o because I always had my hair down but I didn't want anyone to see how short my hair was and it was hardly a POB because it was all the same length! -.- it was meant to be longer at the front!

Excuse the picture ;) but this is how I had to wear my hair up for the next however many months! All the short bits at the back fell out all the time and it just got  on my nerves so much. At least now I know to never go that short again, I've learnt from my mistake.

Eventually my hair grew and grew until it was back to my previous length, I did take probably a year or so but it was finally back to normal!

As my natural hair was lighter than the colour I had it dyed I had to keep on top of my roots so one day I bought a different dye called 'Natural Darkest Brown' and this was the biggest mistake EVER!
My hair literally went black and I was so upset. I'm quite pale and the dark hair just made me look horrible. This was before 'Colour B4' was around and I searched the internet trying to find ways to make it fade quickly and alot of people said 'Head and Shoulders' so, I did this and yeah, it did fade but it was still quite dark.

This is how dark it was! I did hate it at first but I sort of gave in after a while and this is the colour my hair stayed for quite a while until I got the stupid idea of going Blonde... disaster!

I looked online and watched videos on how to go blonde and I bought everything I needed and went ahead with it. The next photo is pretty embarrassing but this is how my hair turned out...

Laugh all you want ;) It looked like my hair was on fire, Yellows, Oranges and Reds. Needless to say, going Blonde didn't work and I went back to my 'Natural Darkest Brown'

I was back to square one again and I stayed there! Until, Cheryl Cole got her hair done Red, then every girl basically wanted their hair red too. So once again, I got the bleach out because there was no way the Red dye would go over my nearly black hair. I lightened my hair and then put on a bright Red dye, not even close to Cheryl Cole's colour! I don't actually have a photo of my Red hair because I hated it so much but I did take this one from another time I went a Red/Maroon but I honestly can't remember if this was before or after the bright Red.

After being Bright Red, I went back to the Dark Brown almost Black again... When will I learn?
Again, I kept this for a while before deciding to use Colour B4 and see what happened. After using colour B4 my hair went a gingery Brown and I just kept it like this for a while, then I got some Blonde Highlights again... sort of Blonde anyway, my hair was still a bit darker than It was before so the Bleach from the highlights didn't do super Blonde (below)

Then, In October 2011 my Mum went away on Holiday and I had a week off work, with my Boyfriend to look after my dog and do some other bits. We went Shopping and I was in Boots and I bought some Bleach... and some Blonde Dye... You see where this is going? Yeah... This time I ended quite well as you will see below

Yay, Blonde. I finally did it! I liked it, but at the same time I didn't know if it suited me as I've got dark brown eyebrows and I'm quite pale and, my hair at this point was shorter because of the amount of bleach I used, my hair snapped off a bit and It just didn't look right.

The next day, I decided it wasn't for me so sent my Boyfriend to Tesco with the strict instructions to get a box of dye that had the words 'Chocolate' and 'Brown' on... If he couldn't find chocolate brown I told him 'Light' and 'Brown' was fine. So yeah, I went back to a lightish chocolate brown again and my hair was completely ruined. It was so dry and snapping off and It felt like chewing gum when I washed it. I say now that I'd never do this again, but who knows what will happen...

After this my hair kept getting shorter everytime I brushed it and It was really not good! one side would look shorter than the other and I had to trim them to keep them the same and it was just a nightmare.

Right now, My hair is sort of brlow my shoulders but above my armpits... It's getting there. It's been about 5 months since I went Blonde and back to brown and I've been using Moroccan Oil and hair masques to try and get it back into good health so, hopefully it'll grow a bit more and I'll have my long hair back! but for now, It'll have to be extensions.

My hair now with Extensions (Halo Hair Extensions)

Once again, this post has turned out longer than I thought but I hope that doesn't put you off reading it & I hope you enjoyed it. If you'd like a review on anything I've mentioned i.e Moroccan Oil or any of the dyes/Bleaches I used then please comment below.

Thank you for reading :)

MAC Lipsticks

Hiya :)

As you can see the title of the post sums up what the post is going to be about. Hopefully this won't be a LONG one like my previous posts haha.

Straight in to it, I have seven MAC Lipsticks, I know this isn't that many but at the moment I don't think I can afford to expand my 'collection' until I find another job :(

From L-R: Girl About Town, Creme Cup, Snob, Pink Nouveau, Vegas Volt, Hue & St Germain
Girl About Town: This along with Creme Cup is one of the first MAC lipsticks I bought. I actually wanted Show Orchid, but it was only limited edition I believe so it was already sold out or the collection had ended, whatever, I didn't know much about MAC lipsticks then. This is what MAC actually recommended to me instead of Show Orchid, so I bought it. However, I've never actually worn this out... I've tried it on and worn it around the house but for some reason I'm a little too scared to wear a pink this bright! Maybe in the Summer I will. It's quite a dark but bright pink if that makes sense. I do like it, I'm just a bit of a scaredy cat to wear it. GAT is an Amplified finish.

Creme Cup: Again, this was one of the first MAC lipsticks I bought, I wanted something 'normal' compared to Girl About Town and I'd seen on Blogs and Youtube that Creme Cup was quite a popular choice as it was a Cremesheen finish & quite natural. I looked at swatches on google and decided to buy it. I wear this quite a lot, it's probably my 2nd most worn lipstick. I see it as a sort of 'my lips but better' shade as it is quite similar to my lip colour but it just makes them look that bit better, I'd describe it as a nudey/pink colour and it goes with everything I think!

Snob: I LOVE SNOB! I'm so glad that I actually bought it as there was a time when I didn't think I would. From swatches I'd seen on google I thought it didn't look that nice and it so wouldn't suit me. However, something made me buy it and this lipstick is my no.1 fave! I wear it almost everyday, if I'm not wearing Snob it's Creme Cup. There isn't much more to say about Snob apart from the fact that I love it. I don't know how to describe it really, it's a Satin finish, which is ok but not as good as Cremesheen finishes and it's in my opinion like a muted baby pink & it's lovely! <3

Pink Nouveau: This colour reminds me of a Barry M Lipstick I used to wear everyday before I started buying MAC, I think the Barry M one was '152' but I'm not completely sure if that's right. Anyway, Pink Nouveau is a Satin Finish and on my lips it is quite a bright pink, but not too bright i'd be scared to wear it as I have worn this to worn and out before! I do like this lipstick but I don't reach for it a lot like I do with Snob and Creme Cup. I only use a light application of this lipstick so it doesn't end up being barbie pink haha. I can't say much about this as I've only worn it a few times really.

Vegas Volt: This is the latest lipstick from MAC I've bought and it's quite different to the rest of my collection as I normally stick to pinks. I was considering buying 'Morange' but when I thought about it, I decided against it because it is quite orange and I don't know if I'd be abled to pull that off with my pale skin. This is where Vegas Volt come in, I still wanted something Orangey for the summer so I decided to get Vegas Volt and I do actually quite like it, I think it goes well with my pale skin and dark chocolate hair :P Vegas Volt is an amplified finish and I like to wear it lightly on my lips just to give enough colour.

Hue: I bought Hue because so many Bloggers/Youtubes go on about Hue and how nice it is. In my opinion, I have to disagree, out of all my MAC Lipsticks this is my least favourite. It's a glaze finish and I don't think I like this finish, it feels too slippery and I can barely notice it on my lips. Recently though I put Hue on and tried St Germain over the top and I liked that combination so who knows, I might use Hue a bit more now.

and lastly,

St Germain: I always knew i'd have St Germain one day. Way before I had a job and had money I used to always look on the MAC website and say to myself that St Germain would be the first lipstick i'd buy from MAC but, it turns out it wasn't my first one haha. Anyway, on me I find St Germain a little bit too light and it makes me look weird but like I mentioned above with Hue it doesn't look too bad actually. Again, this is an amplified finish and it is growing on me. At first I didn't really like St Germain but now I think it's alright, not my first choice but it is still nice.

I said this hopefully wouldn't be a long post but, I couldn't help myself... sorry ;)

What are your favourite MAC lipsticks or do you like other Brands? I've heard topshop lipsticks are really good so I may have to check these out soon. Let me know what you think.

My Current Makeup Routine

Hello :)

Today I thought I would do a post on my everyday/current makeup rountine and show you what products I use and do a little 'walkthrough' of how I do things.

Not the best picture but hey! :)

NARS Laguna
MAC MSF Natural
Sigma Brushes
ELF Brushes
Real Technique Brushes
The Nake Palette 2 (Urban Decay)
MAC Lipsticks
MAC 'All That Glitters'
HD Brows
Benefit They're Real Mascara
Estee Lauder Maximum Coverage Foundation
Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
MAC Fix+
Collection 2000 Concealer
Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer (Can't see in Picture)

When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is clean my face with my Clarisonic Mia (see post below for Review). After I've cleaned my face with the Clarisonic I get a cotton pad and put some Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic on it and use this all over my face, then I put on some Monu Revitalising Moisturiser (got this in a Glossybox and liked it so asked for it again for Christmas) I let this sink in, which it does quickly - it doesn't feel thick or anything like some moisturisers do.

Firstly, I squeeze a small amount of my Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Coverage foundation onto the back of my hand - I use the shade 03 Creamy Vanilla, next time I buy this though I may get a slightly lighter shade as sometimes I feel this one makes me look a little orangey. I take my Real Techniques Stippling Brush (you can now buy this at Boots) and dab it into the foundation then buff it into my face. You really don't need lots of this foundation as a little goes a long way and you can end up looking really cakey if you use too much. I do like this foundation a lot and it gives really good coverage.

After applying my foundation I take my MAC MSF Natural and dab this over the parts of my face that I feel need it, I don't use alot of this as my skin isn't oily. Also, with the Estee Lauder foundation I don't normally use concealer (even though I've pictured it above) but, sometimes I may use it all depending on my skin.

Next up is bronzer, I recently purchased NARS Laguna. Before Laguna I used to use one of ELFs Bronzers and it was quite good but that was literally coming to an end, it was all smashed up and I was getting it everywhere every time I opened it so I decided to buy Laguna as I'd heard some good things about it. I use the ELF Complexion Brush as it's a nice fluffy big brush, I swirl this around in laguna lightly and brush over my cheeks and sometimes my temples.

NARS Laguna
I then take the blush palette I got from ebay, if you search Blush Palette it'll come up. It's quite a good palette as some of the colours are quite similar to MAC ones. I don't actually own any MAC Blushes at the moment because I have this palette and it serves me well. I normally use the pinky ones as I feel the more orangey ones just don't look that great on me. I use the Sigma F80 to apply my blush as it's really soft and gives a gentle brush of colour which you can build up if you want to.

I then take my Sigma E65 and HD Brows Palette to fill in my eyebrows. I use the colour Rich Brown as it matches with my hair colour, my eyebrows without being filled in are slightly lighter than my actual hair and I just can't go out without my eyebrows filled in! I would recommend the HD Brows and the E65 Brush as they're really nice and you get 4 different colours that can be used for brows or as matte eyeshadows.

Next up is the Naked Palette 2! By Urban Decay I bought mine from Debenhams before it was officially realsed as they had a link to a secret page a few days before from their Facebook page. At the moment the Naked 2 Palette is £32.40 down from £36.00! Anyway, I use the brush that comes with the palette and I take the colour 'Suspet' and apply this all over my lid. I then take the colour 'Snakebite' and apply this in my crease and blend it in with a Sigma E25. Sometimes I use Tease all over my lid and then put MAC All That Glitters in my crease.

Naked Palette 2

I then take my HD Brows kit again and the E65 and line my eyes (lids and under my lower lashes) with the Rich Brown colour as I feel this is a much nicer look than using black. Then I take my Rimmel pencil and line my waterline (sometimes I don't so this) then I take my Benefit They're Real mascara and apply this to my lashes, after that I use my Revlon mascara and apply this too as I like my lashes to look extra long and thick even though everyone says my eyelashes are really long anyway.

All depending on what sort of mood I'm in or what colour I'm feeling that day, I apply either MAC Creme Cup as it's quite a nice natural pink, Snob as this is my absoloute fave MAC lippy or if I want to be a little more colourful I'll wear Pink Nouveau. I do have other MAC lipsticks but these 3 are my first choices!

Lastly, I spray some MAC Fix+ all over my face and let this dry and that's me done. All together it probably takes me about 20 minutes or more to do this makeup routine.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I know it's quite long and some people don't like reading long posts but, I can't help it ;)

Review: Clarisonic Mia

It is currently raining and quite cold where I am so I thought I'd sit here and write a review on the Clarisonic Mia. I got my Clarisonic from Buyapowa at the end of last year/very beginning of this year, I paid £90 for it instead of £120, I know £90 still seems alot but I had a Christmas Bonus from work so I thought why not?

Only Picture I have at the moment. Taken from my Blackberry :)
I received my Clarisonic on January 1st, I read the instructions and it said it had to be charged for 24 hours...However, me being me I didn't actually do this - I probably only charged it for a few hours. With the Clarisonic you get a little sample sized cleanser but I didn't use this as I had my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser.

So, when I first used it I took off my makeup with Soap and Glory's 'Off Your Face' Wipes then I put Liz Earle's cleanse and polish on my face and used the Clarisonic with it (the Clarisonic turns off after a minute). I got my cloth and wiped away the remaining cleanse and polish, I looked at the cloth and was amazed to see there was no left over makeup!

Obviously you don't see instant results but after a few uses morning and night of the Clarisonic I noticed my skin was a lot smoother and looked cleaner - my chin and nose were the most obvious areas. Also, I noticed my pores weren't as big as usual and this is something I normally have a problem with as I think my pores look quite big when I have foundation on. I wouldn't say I had bad skin to begin with, I rarely get big red spots and I've never had acne but I think the Clarisonic made my skin that little bit nicer.

I normally use my Clarisonic for 1 minute in the morning with my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and at night I sometimes change the length of time I use it for all depending on how much makeup I've used in the day etc and what product I use, even though in the instructions it says not to use 'abrasive' products I sometimes use a scrub as I received a Clarisonic scrub in one of my Feel Unique Beauty Boxes - I only do this once a week though.

As I got the Soap and Glory wipes in the Big Splendour for Christmas I've used them all up now as you only get 25 in a pack, I have looked in boots for more but couldn't find them and the only other place I can find them is Harvey Nichols but to get them delivered it wanted me to pay £5.50 or something stupid like that and there's no way I'd pay that much money for postage of some wipes and I don't know where a Harvey Nichols is where I live. I do think the Wipes worked well and since I've stopped using them before the Clarisonic I have noticed that I haven't been getting the same results as I did before.

I'm still using the Cleanse and Polish but on it's own I don't think it's really that good for the Clarisonic, it feels to me as if it doesn't clean enough and I need a little bit extra. That's why I've been trying out different cleansers and scrubs so I can see what works well with the Clarisonic and what doesn't.

Since January 1st I've used the Clarisonic every morning and every night without fail (even at times I've been ill and couldn't be bothered) It's the 4th of March today so I've been using it for a little over two months now and to be honest at the moment I wouldn't say my skin is AMAZING like the Clarisonic makes out it will be but, I guess it does feel nicer and I do see a few things that have changed but I want to find some of the Soap and Glory wipes and try a different cleanser.
Some people complain about the 'purging' phase but if I'm honest, I didn't get that and I was quite confused as to why It didn't happen to me BUT I am greatful it didn't as I've heard some nasty stories about massive spots and all sorts! haha Everyone's skin is different so not everybody will go through that phase but it is something to be aware of. Anyway, I am going to continue with the Clarisonic and I'll write an updated post in a few months if anybody reads this and is interested.

If anyone knows where I can get the Soap and Glory wipes, please let me know OR if there's a cleanser I should try then comment below :)

Starting out...

Hello,

My name is Vicky and I am nineteen years old. My interests include: Makeup, Clothes & Shopping and Cooking/Baking and more.

So, anyway... I've decided to start a blog because I've been made redundant from my job as an Office Junior *crycry* and now I have a bit of free time to do a few different things! like blog, exercise, learn to drive, find another job :(

here's a bit more about myself...

My name is actually Victoria, but no one calls me that because I hate it, I was born on the 19th of September 1992. I've lived and grown up in the same sort of area most of my life - even though I've lived in so many different houses! My mum and dad split up when I was about ten years old; I live with my mum and her partner (they're getting married this June), my brother and my mum's partners' son & at the weekends I stay at my dads.

I have a boyfriend called Jamie, and we've been together for three years. He's a bit of a strange boy - I joke - he's funny and I enjoy spending time with him. I got a job as an office junior at his families' company on March 22nd 2010, It was my first job since leaving school after my GCSE's as I didn't feel going to college was the best idea for me as I had no idea what I wanted to do! BUT, as of yesterday I don't work there anymore :(

In my spare time I like to make cupcakes and decorate them, I also like to make other things like bread, cookies, pies etc. I never used to like cooking but now I quite like it :)  (I use smiley faces quite a lot!)

I have a dog called Lacey, she's a golden lab and she'll be four years old in June! I love her to bits and she's my baby <3 My dad has a dog called Jack and he's a miniture Jack Russell who'll be three in April. Sometimes, I like going for walks with the dogs but other times (when it's cold and wet) I hate going for walks!

I love make up, I don't have loads of it but I have enough! I've been collecting a few MAC lipsticks lately even though now this may have to be put on hold while I have no incoming funds. I have: Snob, Vegas Volt, Girl about Town, Hue, Creme Cup, St Germain and Pink Nouveau. My favourite is probably Snob as I wear it quite often and my least favourite is probably Hue (I know some people would kill me for saying that - but, it just doesn't work for me) I have a few MAC foundations and I use Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Coverage at the moment.

I was subscribed to Glossybox, JolieBoxUK and Feel Unique's beauty box but as most people know Feel Unique have stopped their boxes. I've unsubscribed from Jolie Box as I wanted to save some money and the same reason for Glossybox, plus, I've become a bit bored of them and I didn't really use many of the samples (cleaned my room yesterday and emptied ALL of the boxes I've received so far and alot of them have hardly been touched)

Glossybox, JolieBoxUK & Feel Unique contents...

I LOVE KATY PERRY btw, I've seen her three times in London and I don't care what anyone says about her because I just love her & her music and I recently bought all her eylure eyelashes even though I never wear them! that is dedication ;)

Anyway, that's enough about me for now I think. I'm hoping this blog will mainly be about Makeup and beauty & sometimes cupcakes and cookies :D

Thank you for reading (even though I know no body will)
